On January 4, 2018 the regular meeting of the Springfield Planning Board was held at the community center.
Present were:

Sikkema called the meeting to order at 7 PM.
A motion was made by Freeland and seconded by Barry to open the meeting for public comment. Voted, carried, all votes aye.
Elsey said Hobbie was appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals but at the town board meeting, next Monday, he would like to re-appoint him to the planning board since more members are needed on the planning board.
Elsey said project files for planning board applicants will be filed according to the tax map numbers in the future. He intends to get an intern to get that done on all the past files so it will be possible to have a file of the history of each parcel.
Sikkema asked when the next ZBA meeting would be held and who was responsible for scheduling such meetings. Elsey said that Falcone will notify the ZBA chairman to schedule a meeting. He recommends that meetings be held the last Thursday of the month or a special meeting can be called. It is thought that Attorney Kennedy should be present at these meetings. The ZBA members should start the training which is offered on-line.
Barry commented that according to her records, Hobbie was moved to an alternate position and then reinstated in late 2017 and appointed to the ZBA.

Next week the town board will appoint him to the planning board as a member again.
A motion was made by Hobbie and seconded by Freeland to close the public comment segment. Voted, carried, all votes aye.
There was no land use report because there was no activity. Falcone said there was no follow up by the county code office on the Lake N Pines activities.
Nominating the new planning board chairman and the need for another member was discussed. Several names of people interested in serving on the planning board were offered to Elsey. A motion was made by Barry and seconded by Sorin to nominate Rob Freeland as the 2018 Chairman. Voted, carried, all votes aye.
A motion was made by Sorin and seconded by Freeland to nominate Priscilla Barry as Vice-Chairwoman. Voted, carried, all votes aye.
A motion was made by Sorin and seconded by Freeland to approve the minutes from the December 2017 meeting. Voted, carried, all votes aye.
The clerk gave the Oath of Office to Rob Freeland.
A motion was made by Hobbie and seconded by Sorin to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 PM. Voted, carried, all votes aye.
